Survival

Survival of the fittest doesn't apply to human beings or any aspect of our social interactions. Howard Rheingold seems to say that humans are "critters" and all the other "critters" "fought each other" to survive therefore so do we critters.

However it was Darwin himself who decried this notion. Survival of the fittest doesn't apply to humanity he shouted. Clearly the fittest may be the least powerful if one is to assume genius intelligence and/or great physical durability or strength. The criminal idiots running our societies may, by far, not be the best of us in any valid genetic sense. I don't even agree that that is what Darwin or his Evolution theory claimed. That is to say that survival of the fittest meant in any way warring or destroying. Rather it seemed to be saying the most able to survive which is the product of an array of reasons rather than the product of critter wars and or "the last critter standing" as Howard seems to suggest. BTW I came across Howard (I prefer to use people's first names rather than surnames when writing) through the interactive interconnecting interdepending Internet. I happened across one of his videos. Very happy I did.

In contrast I believe interdependency and interconnecting for survival are both very logical and practical as to optimal outcome and very natural. The reason we end up in this overly simplified notion of "the prisoner's dilemma" is not anything to do with wanting to kill each other or even not work well together but simply because we are still largely learning all about how things work. As we become better and better we could well, one day, see a world where lakes and forests and seas and air are not negatively effected by our presence but rather even improved. Not because we ultimately reduce our activities but because we learn how to do things in a super clean super renewing and non-destructive way. The ultimate solution of such dilemmas is not the better of so many evils but rather an entirely new approach.

I am very optimistic that we will have this dreamlike world where we can have our cake too.

I think competition is not the same as fighting to destroy your "enemy" in business. I do not believe that the best business comes from such practices. The best computer tech and greatest advancements come when businesses do not destroy or take over each others markets. The best business product comes as a result of the many competing for favor and reward or just plain joy for the many in the marketplace. It is when perversions like criminal anti-trust violators try to take over this competitive process and put a stop to it that we end up with both a decrease in innovation and quality and an increase in costs. Competition is not about destroying your fellow competitors it's about doing ever better and growing and expanding your works and knowledge. Competition is not the opposite of interdependence it can and does work well especially with interdependence-- at it's best employing group works interdependently and even sharing of knowledge. Can we go beyond intellectual property concerns and promote sharing of knowledge while still protecting the individuals right to benefit from the products of thinking? Perhaps mandated licensing; shortening of the term of exclusivity? We will have many more new innovations in medicine once technology is more freely and openly shared by more competitors than we have today as an example.

IBM helped create a booming computer marketplace when it opened up it's pc architecture through licensing. The market is booming in part because we have so much competition in the hardware sector. So many participants competing. Large corporate dominions are not natural, they are twisted inefficiencies. They are walls to a free market. Yet because they have so much money they have paid off enough politicians to make the spin that they are "business" itself. Really being against monopolistic practices is being pro-business. Pro healthy interconnecting vibrant competitive business.

I think the Internet is forcing this natural and efficient and boundlessly potential inter-connectivity and putting a stop to the unnatural fascistic and ultimately self destructive- destroy and dominate model. As it turns, coming together in love and harmony is just exactly what we need to survive.

Microsoft: the consumer of ideas.....

Microsoft jumps it's offer nearly ten fold to buy Yahoo. Why oh why can't Microsoft innovate and come up with it's own concepts?? Why does it always seem to have to view life as warfare? They must "destroy" Google. Why not just have a great time and help others to? Certainly they have the finances to weave any dream they can think of into reality. It doesn't have to destroy other dreams or even compete with them. It doesn't have to contract or control a market either.

Microsoft wants to cage and limit-- be the only player that everyone must go through-- a formula that brews hatred and stifles creativity and ultimately development. It really sucks joy out of life.

Why not use ones powers for good and expansion? Life is too short for this never ending story of greed and single tracked thinking. It's time for Microsoft to jump off it's track and onward toward new creative expansions which will not leave a world full of resentment but rather admiration. Unless of course being the top-dog is the only point to life Bill and Steve can comprehend. Microsoft has offered many brilliant additions to our world. It's just the big part about domination and control that clearly leads to things we don't need. Competition and boundless possibilities is a good thing for both business and the world as a whole.

Last 35 seconds...

Remember we all won. Football is about fun and friends and having a good time. Whether you're a spectator or a player we shouldn't forget about what it's really all about. Bringing us together in happiness, joy and love. Who wins or loses the game, in terms of points, is really not what it's about.

First words.

Well tonight i just learnt that Hillary Clinton and McCain just won in good old Florida. I'm quite happy for Hillary and think she will make an excellent president if she doesn't give in-- ever-for any reason.

Obama certainly is quite outstanding and as Teddy says,"just what we need" and I believe genuine as well. I hope he will be very much apart of our "repair the USA and UK- and damages done worldwide" government we so urgently need.

As an aside, I hope, regarding McCain's frequent statements including the word "islamofascist" that it becomes a hate crime punishable by 10 years in jail to utter such a word. Well, no, I don't:speech must always be free. However, I do think it's despicable and a clear dance for the defense industrial complex and friends(big oil et al) trying to stir up hate and never ending wars against the Arabs to suit never ending thievery of our treasuries and the interests of the sordid neocon ultra fascists who want to make everyone hate Arabs globally but, at the end of the day, have only succeeded at making everyone hate them. The "war on terror" is nothing but a psychological program designed to blind us all to the massive multi-trillion dollar theft. These are criminals on a monstrous scale. Nothing but slime the entire lot.

The killing must stop and the repairing-rebuilding of the fine USA and UK must begin (yes we were damaged in a comprehensive way worse than the Iraqis by George Bush and co* and his lap dog stooges in the UK).

Yes we need a program based not upon criminal hoods* interests but the interests of us all. We must perhaps now do things like go about the process of building a massive alternative energy system-- made in the USA -- make the best economic year yet-- and super charge the nation with pride and happiness. Imagine fields of hemp producing oil to replace all of our needs for foreign oil and plastic production as well. Make vast amounts of clean burning and electricity providing hydrogen(yes it can be done). Hydrogen fuel cells fuel electric engines which are far more efficient than any sort of internal combustion engine. Fully 70 percent of energy is lost in the form of heat. Israel has a new program to really start doing a very inexpensive implementation of electric cars. Little radical actions like this is partly what it will take to get us going on complete conversion. Electric motor powered cars also have the enormous benefit of being virtually maintenance free which is partly why the big auto companies and their paid off politicians have worked to stop electric cars-- they make too much money repairing internal combustion engine cars. It's all about greed and they don't care that they are harming the interests of the nation and the world as a whole. They don't care one bit. Yet we'll lock up a poor black man for ten years for stealing a pack of cigarettes.

Lovely thing about hemp is that it really is a clean burning fuel and additionally enriches the land upon which it grows allowing for five full crops per year. Hemp is the reason pot is illegal hemp is a threat to everything from big forestry to big oil. The constition was made on a page of hemp! It's immensely durable and a major problem solver. By allowing unlimited planting of hemp(industrial hemp is not psycho active so it can't really be smoked anyway) we will inject a huge boost into our economy and the world as a whole within months. Anyway the future is potentially bright but we must vastly increase the wealth of our nations and cut off the crooks who are stealing it from us-- whilst we all sit blindly waving flags-- a most unpatriotic gesture especially for some group of hoods that has done so much in their time in office to undermine the very foundation of or representative democracy: the Constitution. We can do it now we are all awake for the first time possibly in decades.

But above all we must become nations of brothers and sisters who love each other and do not seek harm ever MURDER AND TORTURE OF ANY KIND MUST BE TAKEN OFF THE TABLE. It doesn't prove we are anything but vicious murdering scum.

We can go on to enjoy the fruits of boundless clean energy and other innovations. The UK and USA and the rest of the world all can be golden free lands of endless joy. Our magically brilliant and beautiful nations are to become shining examples of the best of what can be -- not the worst. We will be true friends to the world community-- loved by all just by being our true selves and purging our governments of the slime that has poisoned our souls. We can stop this horrid evil once and for all. It is surprisingly easy.
